How Gunshot Detection Works
In short, gunshot detection technology reacts during an active shooter event by capturing energy levels with acoustic characteristics and performing on-board detector waveform analysis. The analysis results determine whether or not further captured event signal examination is needed and what other system actions to initiate.
Detection events validated as threats are digitized and transmitted by the detectors to the system server for additional evaluation and functionality such as activating the Adaptive Response features, notifying Law Enforcement, sending notifications, display camera feed, and execute Ballistic Analysis.
The system can deliver precise event threat assessment information allowing Law Enforcement additional tools for the decision-making and minimizing the potential of event victims.

A 2019 survey by Securitas asked top security decision-makers representing a wide range of workplaces which physical security threat concerned them the most. Their answer? An active shooter situation. Statistically, the probability of an active shooter event happening at any given location is relatively low. However, it is impossible to predict when it or where it may occur, and if it happens at your facility, then the chance of it happening is 100%.
